Sod is cut fresh for each order — orders cannot be placed until paid, and we ask for 2 business days notice to cancel once the harvest is scheduled.
Access and staging. Gated drives, hedged lanes, and motor courts are the norm on the South Fork, so we sort out gate codes, a site contact, and where pallets stage before the truck rolls. The all-terrain forklift carries each pallet off the truck and sets it where the crew is working — not at the end of a 400-foot drive.
Timing around the calendar. Most jobs go in 2–7 days from order. Between Memorial Day and Labor Day the schedule tightens — if the install has to beat a showing, a wedding, or a listing date, call early and we work backward from that date, weekends included.
Order sizing. Long Island and Hamptons orders carry a 1,200 sq ft minimum; RTF runs a 10,000 sq ft minimum on Long Island. Measure the lawn with the Long Island sod calculator or call (203) 806-4086 and we’ll scope it with you.
Water from hour one. The single thing that makes or breaks a Hamptons install: irrigation on within the hour and soaked to the soil for the first 2–3 weeks. We confirm the system runs before we leave — the Tara Road write-up is what happens when sprinklers fail.
