Who We Work With

Six kinds of commercial turf work

Property Managers & HOAs

Common areas, entrances, and amenity lawns where brown turf drives resident complaints. Sectioned scheduling so the community stays usable, and a lawn that looks finished the day we leave.

Builders & General Contractors

Punch-list lawns timed to closings and COs. We take it from rough grade — topsoil, finish grade, roll, install — or install-only over your site crew’s prep. Fresh-cut sod means no dead-pallet callbacks.

Municipalities, Schools & Parks

Park lawns, school grounds, town greens, and municipal buildings. Written scopes and quotes for procurement, scheduled around public use, with turf varieties chosen for traffic and recovery.

Athletic & Recreation Fields

Game fields, practice areas, and rec complexes — Kentucky bluegrass and tall fescue blends bred for wear and recovery, from the same growers behind our golf course supply work.

Retail, Office & Campus

Street-facing lawns that are part of the property’s first impression. Overnight and early staging by forklift so parking and storefront access stay open during the install.

Estates, Clubs & Golf

Country club grounds, estate lawns, and golf course programs run through our dedicated trade channels. See golf course sod and For the Trade.

Why Commercial Buyers Pick CT Sod

Built for schedules, specs, and sign-offs

Fresh-cut against your install date

Sod has a 24–48 hour shelf life off the soil. Ours is harvested against the delivery date — not pulled from yard inventory — so a phase that slips a week gets re-cut fresh, not a week-old pallet. Fewer establishment failures, fewer callbacks, cleaner punch-list sign-offs.

Crews that lay sod full-time

Tight seams, straight lines against walks and curbs, clean grade transitions across large open lawns. Our install crews work sod nearly every day of the season — the difference shows at handover and again three weeks later.

All-terrain forklift staging

Every truck carries its own forklift. Pallets stage exactly where each phase needs them — behind buildings, along field edges, across curbs — without tying up a site loader or blocking access lanes.

Eight-state footprint, one supplier

Delivery across CT, MA, NY, NJ, RI, NH, VT, and ME, with installation crews across CT, NY, NJ, MA, RI, VT, and NH. Portfolio managers with properties in three states make one call, not three.

Specifiable varieties

Kentucky bluegrass, tall fescue blends, and RTF from established growers running NTEP-evaluated cultivar blends. Cultivar-level detail available for spec documentation — useful for landscape architects and municipal bids.

Written scope before crews are scheduled

Every commercial job gets a written quote — square footage, variety, prep scope, delivery sequencing, and install window — before anything is booked. Procurement-friendly, surprise-free.

How A Commercial Job Runs

From site walk to watered-in lawn

  1. 1

    Scope & quote

Send square footage, variety preference, and the install window — or book a site walk for larger scopes. Written quote back fast, usually within a business day.

  2. 2

    Schedule & prep

We lock the delivery date against your project schedule. Your crew handles prep, or our full-service scope covers stripping, topsoil, finish grading, and rolling from rough grade.

  3. 3

    Cut, deliver, install

Sod is harvested at the farm against your date, trucked in, forklift-staged by phase, and laid by a sod-specialist crew — seams tight, edges cut in, site left clean.

  4. 4

    Watering handoff

Your grounds team or landscaper gets a clear first-two-weeks watering plan tied to the irrigation zones, so establishment doesn’t depend on guesswork.

Commercial FAQs

Straight answers for project planning

Do you handle phased commercial projects?

Yes. Multi-building sites, HOA common areas done section by section, and punch-list phases timed to CO dates are all normal work for us. Because sod is cut against each delivery date, every phase gets fresh sod — the phase-3 lawn establishes just as well as phase 1 did.

Can you coordinate with our GC, irrigation contractor, or landscape architect?

That's most of our commercial work. We slot the sod install after final grade and irrigation sign-off, confirm the delivery window with the site super, and stage pallets by forklift wherever the schedule needs them. One phone call reaches the decision-maker — no portal tickets.

What does site prep include — and what don't you do?

Full-service scope covers stripping old turf, clean topsoil, finish grading, and rolling before the sod goes down. We don't take on excavation work — if the site needs cuts or major earthwork, your sitework contractor handles that first and we take it from rough grade.

How fast can a commercial lawn be ready for use?

Sod gives you a finished-looking lawn the day it's installed and a rootable, mowable stand in roughly two to three weeks with proper watering — versus a full season or more for seed. For leasing offices, schools, and HOAs where appearance drives complaints, that speed is usually the whole reason to choose sod.

Do you supply athletic-quality turf for fields?

Yes — Kentucky bluegrass and tall fescue blends suited to game fields, practice areas, park lawns, and school grounds, from the same NTEP-evaluated grower network that supplies our golf course work. For tee, green, and fairway programs specifically, see the golf course sod page.

We had a great experience with CT Sod. After our pool installation, our yard needed significant cleanup and restoration. Their team did an excellent job prepping the area with quality topsoil and installing the new sod. They were professional, friendly, and especially careful working around our brand-new pool and patio. Communication was easy throughout the process via text, and they took the time to recommend the right type of sod specifically for the conditions in our yard. The finished lawn exceeded our expectations and looks fantastic. They also provided great value—we were able to use the extra topsoil and sod to improve other areas of our property. Overall, very happy with the quality of the work and the entire experience with CT Sod.

I recently dealt with Sean and Kayla to set up a sod installation around a new pool - couldn’t be happier with the process, price, and results. Highly recommend CT Sod - you won’t be disappointed with this company. I snapped this while the guys were working. In 4 hours they almost had the whole 5,000 square feet of fresh Kentucky Bluegrass installed. Results speak for themselves.
