About CT Sod · Milford, Connecticut
Sod Is What We Do.
Every Day.
CT Sod is a sod delivery and installation company based in Milford, Connecticut. We harvest sod fresh against each order, deliver it across eight Northeast states with all-terrain forklifts, and install it with crews that lay sod full-time — not as a side line to mowing routes or masonry.

How CT Sod Works
Fresh-cut against the order — because sod is perishable
Sod has a 24–48 hour shelf life once it comes off the soil. That single fact drives everything about how CT Sod operates. We don’t stock palletized inventory in a yard; your sod is harvested at the farm against your delivery date — usually the same morning it goes on the truck. Day-1 sod knits down fast. Day-7 sod struggles, no matter who lays it.
Our Kentucky Bluegrass, Tall Fescue, RTF, and bluegrass-fescue blends come from established Northeast and Mid-Atlantic growers running NTEP-evaluated cultivar blends — farms we’ve worked with for years and visit in person. Tall fescue sod, for the record, is always a blend (roughly 90/10 turf-type tall fescue and Kentucky bluegrass — the bluegrass binds the roots so it can be harvested). Anyone selling “100% tall fescue sod” is selling something else.
Every delivery truck carries an all-terrain forklift. Pallets go where the job needs them — up a slope, through a gate, staged around the back — not dumped at the curb. And when we install, the crew doing it lays sod nearly every working day of the season: tight seams, clean grade transitions, edges cut in around beds and walks. Install-only if your prep is done, or full-service where we handle stripping the old turf, topsoil, grading, rolling, and the install in one scope.
Behind it all is 30 years of sod industry experience — growing, harvesting, delivering, and installing cool-season turf across New England, New York, and New Jersey. That’s why landscape contractors, landscape architects, and golf course superintendents make up roughly half our volume: the operational details are built for people who lay sod for a living.
