Sag Harbor is the South Fork's whaling village — a tight 1840s-1900s historic district around the harbor and Main Street, the SANS neighborhoods (Sag Harbor Hills, Azurest, Ninevah Beach) above the bay, the Redwood waterfront blocks, Bay Point and the older waterside lots toward Noyac, and the North Haven peninsula reached by the small bridge over the cove. Lots are smaller and tighter than the estate-section Hamptons, the architecture reads at close range, and the salt air off Sag Harbor Cove and Gardiners Bay touches every property within a half mile of the water.
CT Sod has been delivering and installing sod across the South Fork for years. Pallets are cut to order at the farm the morning of your install, hauled out to the East End, placed exactly where you need them by all-terrain forklift — even on the North Haven side of the bridge or down a tight Village block — and laid by crews whose only job is sod, not general landscaping.
Your sod is cut at the farm the morning of installation — never stockpiled. Fresh sod establishes faster and handles the salt-air transplant stress that finishes a stockpiled pallet within a week of delivery.
The Village historic district, Redwood, Ninevah Beach, Sag Harbor Hills, Azurest, Bay Point, North Haven, the Noyac border, and the harbor-edge blocks along Main Street and Madison — we install everywhere in town and know the bridge weight limits, tight Village streets, and SANS waterfront access before we get there.
The bridge to North Haven has a weight limit that rules out most standard delivery rigs, and the historic Village streets aren't much more forgiving for larger trucks. Our all-terrain forklifts get pallets where your crew is working — not stranded at the bridge or at the end of a Village block.
On the East End we run install-only — you (or your landscaper) handle the prep, and our crew shows up with the sod and lays it tight. The Hamptons surcharge applies on orders over 1,200 sq ft; full-service prep + install is available across CT and Westchester.
Every install is scoped per project — square footage, access (including North Haven bridge logistics), variety call for the salt-air exposure, install window against summer Village traffic. You get a written quote with the work and inclusions spelled out before crews are scheduled.
Most Sag Harbor installs are part of a larger landscape build managed by a local crew. We work as the sod supplier and install specialist — same fresh-cut product, same install standard you'd get on a Greenwich or Westchester job.

Two Years Post-Install — A Hamptons Reference
These videos came in four years after we installed tall fescue across a multi-acre property in Water Mill — a short drive south of Sag Harbor — sent unprompted by the customer. Audio is stripped at the customer's request. We're sharing them as a real reference for what fresh-cut Tall Fescue does on a Hamptons property after the install crew is long gone — through four summers, four winters, and the salt-wind shoulder seasons in between.
Walkthrough of a separate $13.95 million waterfront estate built by Build Well Development on Tara Rd in Montauk that we sodded. The pool area and yard you see is sod we redid for free before the showing — sprinklers failed to kick on after install and burned out the first lay, so we hauled it away and re-laid it on our dime.
