Build Well DevelopmentHamptons custom builder — Tara Rd Montauk waterfront estate
Multi-acre Hamptons vineyard estate sodded by CT Sod — a reference install west of Amagansett showing the farm-cut tall fescue we deliver to Further Lane, Bluff Road, and Marine Boulevard oceanfront properties

Amagansett is the village just east of East Hampton — the historic Main Street with its 18th- and 19th-century buildings, the Bluff Road oceanfront blocks, the Indian Wells Highway and Atlantic Avenue beach corridor, Marine Boulevard along the ocean, the Beach Hampton neighborhood south of the highway, Lazy Point on Napeague Bay, and the Napeague stretch where the South Fork narrows on the way to Montauk. Soils are mostly sandy oceanfront outwash, with the Napeague isthmus being especially thin and salt-exposed. Deer pressure is heavy in the woods-edge properties off Abrahams Path and Cross Highway.

CT Sod has been delivering and installing sod across the South Fork for years. Pallets are cut to order at the farm the morning of your install, hauled out to the East End, placed exactly where you need them by all-terrain forklift — even past a security gate, across a soft sandy drive, or out toward Lazy Point — and laid by crews whose only job is sod, not general landscaping.

Why Property Owners in Amagansett Choose CT Sod

Farm-Cut for the Hamptons

Your sod is cut at the farm the morning of installation — never stockpiled. Fresh sod establishes faster and handles the salt-wind and sandy-soil transplant stress that finish a stockpiled pallet within a week of delivery.

Every Amagansett Neighborhood

Bluff Road, Indian Wells Highway, Atlantic Avenue, Marine Boulevard, the Village historic core, Beach Hampton, Abrahams Path, Cross Highway, Lazy Point, and the Napeague stretch — we install across every Amagansett neighborhood and know the gated access, soft-drive logistics, and salt-exposure variety calls before we get there.

All-Terrain Forklift Placement

A lot of Amagansett properties sit behind gates or at the end of soft sandy drives where a standard delivery truck bottoms out before getting anywhere near the install. Our all-terrain forklifts handle that terrain and place pallets where your crew is working — not wherever the pavement runs out.

Install-Only on the South Fork

On the East End we run install-only — you (or your landscaper) handle the prep, and our crew shows up with the sod and lays it tight. The Hamptons surcharge applies on orders over 1,200 sq ft; full-service prep + install is available across CT and Westchester.

Written Quote Before Work Starts

Every install is scoped per project — square footage, access, variety call for the sandy oceanfront or thin Napeague soil, install window against summer Route 27 traffic. You get a written quote with the work and inclusions spelled out before crews are scheduled.

Coordinates With Your Landscaper

Most Amagansett installs are part of a larger landscape build managed by a local crew. We work as the sod supplier and install specialist — same fresh-cut product, same install standard you'd get on a Greenwich or Westchester job.

A multi-acre tall fescue estate with a private vineyard — these clips came in from restaurateur Willie Degel (Restaurant Stakeout, Uncle Jack's Steakhouse) four years after we installed it, sent unprompted and shared with permission: still thick and green from the motor court out to the vineyard rows.

Multi-Acre Water Mill, NY Tall Fescue, 4 Years On

These videos came in four years after we installed tall fescue across a multi-acre property in Water Mill — about thirty minutes west of Amagansett — sent unprompted by the customer. Audio is stripped at the customer's request. We're sharing them as a real reference for what fresh-cut Tall Fescue does on a Hamptons property after the install crew is long gone — through four summers, four winters, and the salt-wind shoulder seasons in between.

A Different Property — $13.95M Build Well Development Estate, Tara Rd Montauk

Walkthrough of a separate $13.95 million waterfront estate built by Build Well Development on Tara Rd in Montauk that we sodded. The pool area and yard you see is sod we redid for free before the showing — sprinklers failed to kick on after install and burned out the first lay, so we hauled it away and re-laid it on our dime. Different property from Willie Degel's Water Mill footage shown above, same install standard, same accountability when things go wrong.

Frequently Asked Questions

Sod Installation in Amagansett

Which Amagansett areas do you install sod in?

We install across all of Amagansett — the Bluff Road and Marine Boulevard oceanfront, Indian Wells Highway and Atlantic Avenue, the Village historic core, Beach Hampton south of the highway, the woods-edge lots off Abrahams Path and Cross Highway, Lazy Point on Napeague Bay, and the Napeague stretch toward Montauk.

What sod holds up on Amagansett's sandy, salt-exposed soil?

Most of Amagansett is sandy oceanfront outwash, and the Napeague isthmus is especially thin and salt-exposed, so we lean toward a salt- and drought-tolerant tall fescue on the oceanfront and Napeague lots. Fresh, farm-cut sod matters even more here — it roots before the salt wind and fast-draining sand can stress a stockpiled pallet, which is why ours is cut the morning of the install.

Can you get pallets down the soft sandy drives off Bluff Road?

Yes — that's exactly the terrain our all-terrain forklifts are for. A lot of Amagansett properties sit behind gates or at the end of soft sandy drives where a standard delivery truck bottoms out before it reaches the install. The forklift carries pallets across the sand and past the gate to where your crew is laying, even out toward Lazy Point.

Do you handle prep on the South Fork, or just the install?

On the East End we run install-only — you or your landscaper handle the prep, and our crew arrives with farm-cut sod and lays it tight. A Hamptons surcharge applies on orders over 1,200 square feet. Most Amagansett jobs are part of a larger landscape build, so we work as the sod supply-and-install specialist alongside your local crew. Full-service prep-plus-install is available on our CT and Westchester jobs.

What should I watch for after a new lawn goes in near the Amagansett dunes?

The sandy soil drains fast, so new sod needs more frequent, lighter watering than an inland lawn — keep it consistently damp for the first two to three weeks. Salt wind off the ocean can stress the edges, so we'll flag a longer establishment window on the most exposed Bluff Road and Napeague lots. On the woods-edge lots off Abrahams Path and Cross Highway, deer pressure is heavy, which is worth planning for as the lawn fills in.

Best sod company around. We've used them on about 5 of our Hamptons properties and I wouldn't recommend anyone else. Sean and his employees are thorough, neat, and stick to their schedule. Top quality. High recommend.

Excellent product and service! We ordered sod last year and the product was perfect! We installed it ourselves by first removing weeds and slightly tillering the site since we have heavy clay soil. The grass looked amazing when we installed and now in spring is perfect. We did water a lot after installing it but the time money and effort paid off. I recommend this supplier, thanks CTSod.

I’ve had sod deliveries from CT Sod to properties I have in both Greenwich and Milford. Each sod delivery has been high quality bluegrass sod, and both my neighbors and landscaper admired the quality. Kayla in the office even texts you the exact time it will come the night before. I couldn’t be more impressed with the service and product I received from CT Sod. You will not be disappointed with this sod company.
