Sagadahoc County is the smallest county in Maine — the shipbuilding city of Bath, the Kennebec River towns of Topsham, Richmond, and Bowdoinham, and the peninsulas of Phippsburg and Georgetown where the river meets the sea. The in-town and up-river lots sit on decent soil (roughly USDA zone 5b–6a) with little direct salt, while the lower peninsula tips are rocky and salt-exposed.
