Nantucket County is the island of Nantucket — thirty miles out to sea, all sand, salt, and fog. This is the most exposed turf we serve, so deep-rooted, salt-tolerant grass leads by a wide margin:
Deep roots (2–3 ft), drought tolerance, refined look. Strong choice for partial-shade or lower-maintenance sites.

Nantucket County is a single island town, roughly thirty miles south of Cape Cod and completely surrounded by ocean. The soil is essentially pure sand that drains instantly and holds almost no moisture, the salt air is constant, and summer fog and wind are part of daily life. Conditions here are the harshest we serve, and they strongly favor deep-rooted, salt- and drought-tolerant tall fescue and fescue blends.
Sod for the island is ferry-coordinated, so scheduling matters — we plan delivery around the boat. We lay sod over a fresh topsoil base because native sand is too lean to root into, and new sod needs deep, consistent early watering.
