Project update — August 21, 2026. CT Sod is scheduled to begin work Saturday morning, August 22. The photos below document the site before our work begins; this page will be updated as grading and sod installation progress.

A contractor called CT Sod with a deadline-driven project in New Canaan, Connecticut. The original landscape schedule could no longer cover the required timeline, so we made last-minute arrangements to take on approximately 7,000 square feet of site work, grading, and sod installation.

The fixed deadline is a new driveway scheduled for paving on Thursday, August 27. Before that happens, the access-road schedule includes a separate propane-tank operation on Tuesday, with the obstruction expected to be cleared Wednesday. Those propane and driveway operations are being handled by other project trades — they are timing constraints for CT Sod, not part of our scope.

A Narrow Access Window Before the New Driveway

This job is not waiting on an open-ended landscape calendar. CT Sod is scheduled to start Saturday morning because the site work and lawn installation have to be completed before the driveway is paved Thursday.

A separate propane-tank operation is scheduled to occupy the access road Tuesday. The obstruction is expected to be cleared Wednesday, leaving a tightly coordinated sequence before the paving crew arrives August 27. We are documenting that sequence because access can determine whether a deadline-driven landscape project succeeds just as much as square footage or crew size.

What CT Sod Is Scheduled to Do

Our scope is the approximately 7,000-square-foot site-work, grading, and sod installation project. The driveway paving and propane-tank work belong to separate trades. CT Sod's job is to prepare the designated lawn areas, establish the finished grade for sod, and install the new turf within the available access window.

That distinction matters. These are pre-work photos, not a completion announcement, and the existing equipment shown on site is not presented as CT Sod's work. The next update will document what our crew encounters when work starts and how the grade changes before sod goes down.

Why the Access Road Controls the Schedule

The access road shown in these photos leads into the active work area. A scheduled propane operation will affect that route Tuesday, the obstruction is expected to be gone Wednesday, and the driveway is scheduled to be paved Thursday. That makes Saturday's start important: the site work cannot simply drift into the following week without colliding with other trades.

Updates Will Stay on This Page

We will keep this as one live New Canaan project record rather than publishing disconnected updates. As the job progresses, we will add the grading work, sod installation, and finished-lawn media here — with each stage labeled by date so the difference between the original site, work in progress, and the completed CT Sod scope stays clear.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the 7,000 square foot New Canaan sod project scheduled to begin?+
CT Sod is scheduled to begin Saturday morning, August 22, 2026. The schedule is compressed because driveway paving is planned for Thursday, August 27.
What is included in CT Sod's scope on this project?+
CT Sod's scope is approximately 7,000 square feet of site work, grading, and sod installation. The propane-tank operation and driveway paving are separate trades and are not being performed by CT Sod.
Why does the propane and driveway schedule matter to the sod work?+
The access road serves the active work area. A separate propane operation is scheduled to affect that route Tuesday, the obstruction is expected to be cleared Wednesday, and driveway paving follows Thursday, so the lawn work must fit into the available access window.
Is the New Canaan sod installation complete in these photos?+
No. These are before-work photos taken Friday, August 21. CT Sod is scheduled to start Saturday morning, and this same page will be updated with grading, installation, and finished-lawn media as the work progresses.

We had a great experience with CT Sod. After our pool installation, our yard needed significant cleanup and restoration. Their team did an excellent job prepping the area with quality topsoil and installing the new sod. They were professional, friendly, and especially careful working around our brand-new pool and patio. Communication was easy throughout the process via text, and they took the time to recommend the right type of sod specifically for the conditions in our yard. The finished lawn exceeded our expectations and looks fantastic. They also provided great value—we were able to use the extra topsoil and sod to improve other areas of our property. Overall, very happy with the quality of the work and the entire experience with CT Sod.

I recently dealt with Sean and Kayla to set up a sod installation around a new pool - couldn’t be happier with the process, price, and results. Highly recommend CT Sod - you won’t be disappointed with this company. I snapped this while the guys were working. In 4 hours they almost had the whole 5,000 square feet of fresh Kentucky Bluegrass installed. Results speak for themselves.
