East Haven sits along Long Island Sound just east of New Haven, and its lawns split into two clear rhythms. Down at the shore, the Momauguin and Cosey Beach communities are tight cottage lots on narrow lanes that take summer wind and salt-spray off the Sound. CT Sod is based in nearby Milford, a straight run down the shoreline, which makes East Haven an easy install market for us. Pallets are cut to order at the farm the morning of installation, carried down narrow shore lanes and long inland drives by all-terrain forklift, and laid by a crew that installs sod nearly every day across the region — backed by 30 years of sod industry experience. On the shore lots we lead with tall fescue for deep roots and salt resilience; the shaded Center and Foxon yards under mature canopy get a bluegrass-fescue blend.

Your sod is cut at the farm the morning of installation — never stockpiled. Fresh sod establishes faster and handles transplant stress far better than a tired pallet, whether it's going onto coastal sandy loam near the water or the glacial-till loam inland through Foxon and Saltonstall.
The shore lanes are narrow, weight-limited, and busy with summer traffic. We keep the loaded truck where it belongs and let the forklift carry each pallet down to where the crew is set up — no tying up a beach-community lane, no stranding sod at the corner.
Tight shore-cottage lawns and larger inland Foxon and Saltonstall properties call for different sod and different prep. We match the variety and the grading approach to whether you're on salt-sprayed coastal soil or shaded inland glacial-till loam.
Many shore addresses sit in beach associations with their own lane rules and gated entrances. Tell us when you book and we plan the approach before the truck rolls so the install runs cleanly on delivery day.
