CT Sod completed the front-yard phase of a 3,600-square-foot Kentucky bluegrass sod installation in Trumbull, Connecticut, on October 1, 2026. This was a return visit for a builder we work with once or twice a year. The photos show the finished front lawn; a small rear-yard area was not ready for sod that day.
A Trumbull Builder Who Switched From Seed to Sod
Before working with CT Sod, this builder typically seeded the lawns at his homes. After our first sod project together, he told us he did not want to go back to seeding his future homes. That is his experience, not a claim that sod is the only choice for every property.
For this project, he chose Kentucky bluegrass. The newly laid lawn gives the front of the home immediate grass coverage, with the sod fitted along the stone walls and down to the roadside edge. Newly installed sod still needs watering and time to root; a finished installation is not the same as an established lawn.

The front lawn slopes from the house and stonework toward the street. These photos document CT Sod's sod installation. The other construction and equipment visible around the property are not being presented as our work.

A Plan for the Extra Pallet — Not an Extra Installation Charge
The builder had ordered roughly one pallet more than the front area needed. The rear yard was not ready, so he initially thought the remaining sod would have to be thrown away.
With cooler temperatures giving us a little more time on this particular job, we offered another option: if he could prepare a rear-yard area the next morning, our crew could return to lay the remaining pallet. He arranged for topsoil and planned to rake out that area himself. We agreed to install that sod at no additional installation charge, because it was already part of his original installation order.
That return was scheduled for the following day; it is not shown in these finished-front-lawn photos. This is the complete project story, not an ongoing update series.
Sod is perishable, and cooler weather does not make a stacked pallet safe to hold indefinitely. This was a job-specific arrangement after discussing the conditions and preparation schedule—not a general recommendation to leave sod on a pallet overnight. If your area is not ready, contact your installer promptly rather than assuming the sod can wait. Our guide explains why sod should be laid promptly after delivery.
What the Builder Said About the Crew
Along with arranging the topsoil, the builder sent a message thanking us and describing the crew: “those guys were really nice too today.” He was pleased with the installation and the way the crew treated him. We have kept the private conversation screenshot off the site and shared only that short piece of feedback.
Repeat work matters to us. On this Trumbull job, that meant installing the front lawn and helping the builder find a practical use for sod he had already ordered, rather than treating the extra pallet as his problem alone.
