CT Sod completed an 11,000-square-foot tall fescue sod installation in Darien, Connecticut, for a landscape company working with us for the first time. The landscaper completed the site preparation, then hired CT Sod to supply and install the sod for his company as a white-label installation.
For this contractor, our combined sod-and-installation price made more sense than purchasing sod and having his own company handle the laying. He kept responsibility for preparation; our crew took on the sod installation. The three photos in this story show the completed lawn, including the slopes and areas around existing trees and rock borders.
An 11,000-Square-Foot Darien Sod Installation
This was a commercial customer hiring us for a landscape project—not a claim that the property itself is a commercial site. The finished lawn runs beside the home and through a tree-lined section of the property, with changes in grade and irregular edges to work around.
Our scope was the sod supply and installation over the landscaper's prepared ground. The landscape company handled the preparation. We are not presenting the grading, soil work, drainage, stonework or surrounding construction as CT Sod's work.
The lawn was installed with tall fescue sod. Our tall fescue sod is a blend of approximately 90% turf-type tall fescue and 10% Kentucky bluegrass; the bluegrass helps bind the sod for harvesting. Newly installed sod gives immediate grass coverage, but it still needs appropriate watering and time to root before normal use.

Finished Sod Around Trees, Slopes and Rock Borders

These are installation-completion photos, not a later establishment update. Visible tree cover also does not establish how many hours of sunlight the lawn receives through the day. Tall fescue still needs adequate light; dense shade is not solved simply by installing sod. Variety selection and the watering plan should match the actual site conditions.
Why the Landscaper Chose a White-Label Sod Installer
The landscape company had already completed the preparation and needed the sod portion of the project finished. Rather than assigning the installation to his own operation, the contractor compared the options and chose CT Sod's combined supply-and-installation service.
In this case, the price made more sense for his company than doing the sod installation himself. That is the reason this customer gave us—not a promise that subcontracting is cheaper on every job. Area, access, handling and the agreed scope all affect a project quote.
White-label installation here means that CT Sod performed the sod work for the landscape company's project. The contractor did not need to hand over the preparation scope or have CT Sod claim the rest of the landscape work. We have kept the company and homeowner unnamed in this public project story.
For landscapers comparing the same options, a useful comparison includes both the sod and the labor needed to install it, plus the time your own crew would otherwise spend away from other work. Share the lawn area, access conditions, preparation status and desired schedule so the installation quote covers the actual job.
Planning a Darien Sod Installation for Your Landscape Company
A clear division of responsibilities matters when one company prepares the site and another installs the sod. On this Darien job, the landscape company prepared the ground and CT Sod supplied and laid the sod. For another project, confirm the preparation requirements and the ready-to-install date before arranging delivery.
Also agree who will water the lawn immediately after installation and manage it through establishment. A completed installation still needs follow-through. Our new sod care guide explains watering and early care; slopes and exposed edges deserve particular attention when checking moisture.

Request a Quote From a Darien Sod Installer
This 11,000-square-foot job is a documented example of CT Sod working for a landscape company after that company's preparation was complete. Homeowners and contractors can request an installation quote with the approximate square footage, location, access details and preparation status. If you are a landscaper seeking a white-label installation, include that in your request so we can discuss the scope clearly.
