CT Sod completed this 1,500-square-foot sod installation in Trumbull, CT, on October 19, 2026. The backyard lawn runs between a white fence and the home's pool, patio and raised deck. Our photo captures the crew laying sod during installation—not a staged finished-lawn image.

A Backyard Sod Installation Beside the Pool and Deck
The photo shows new sod extending toward the shed at the back of the property, while the crew works through the remaining area closer to the house. Sod rolls are positioned beside the work area, and two crew members are placing the next sections. The lawn meets several existing features: the fence line, poolside paving and the area beneath the raised deck.
Those boundaries are part of what makes a backyard installation different from laying grass across an open rectangle. The sod needs to fit the lawn area without covering the adjoining hardscape. The image documents that roll-by-roll work on this Trumbull job; the pool, deck, fencing and other construction are not being presented as CT Sod's work.
1,500 Square Feet of New Lawn in Trumbull
This completed installation adds another documented Trumbull project to our local work. It is separate from our 3,600-square-foot Kentucky bluegrass installation for a Trumbull builder, which covered a front lawn beside stone retaining walls.
Together, the two stories show different settings for sod installation in town: a builder's front lawn and this backyard beside a pool. Neither layout is a substitute for measuring your own property. When requesting a quote, include the approximate lawn area, photos of the space and access, and whether the ground is already prepared or you need preparation included.
For grass selection, see our guide to sod for Trumbull lawns. The variety should suit the actual sunlight, use and maintenance plans for the yard; the grass variety for this particular installation is not specified here.
After Installation: Give the Sod Time to Root
A completed sod installation provides immediate grass coverage, but the lawn still needs time to root into the soil below. Start watering promptly and check moisture beneath the sod rather than judging only by the color of the blades. Cooler October weather can reduce drying, but it does not eliminate the need to monitor moisture.
Keep unnecessary foot traffic off the new lawn while it establishes. Around a pool and deck, use existing hardscape for access where possible instead of repeatedly crossing newly laid grass. Follow the care instructions for your installation and adjust watering to rainfall, soil moisture and local restrictions.
