We delivered 3,000 square feet of fresh-cut Kentucky bluegrass to a property in Riverside, Connecticut — Greenwich's shoreline neighborhood — for a Fairfield County landscape contractor who had never used us before. His crew laid it themselves, and when the last roll went down he sent us these photos. The sod showed up fresh, on schedule, and exactly as quoted — and that first delivery has already turned into something much bigger.
A First Order for a Riverside Property
Riverside sits between Cos Cob and Old Greenwich on Greenwich's shoreline, and the properties there get the full treatment. This one was mid-refresh — new stone walls, bluestone walks, and hydrangea beds going in — and the lawn was the finishing layer. The contractor running the project needed Kentucky bluegrass that would arrive fresh the day his crew was ready to lay it, because sod is perishable — the fresher it goes down, the faster it knits. We cut the order fresh and had it in Greenwich on schedule.

Their Crew Laid It — Our Sod Held Up Its End
We didn't install this one. The contractor's own crew laid the lawn — down the graded bank along the road, around the new plantings, and along the backyard strip between the stone wall and the bluestone patio. The photos they sent back tell you how the sod handled it: tight seams, even color, full coverage on the slope. Fresh rolls over a well-prepped bed make the laying day go right, whoever's crew is doing it.

Why He Sent Us the Photos
Nobody photographs a delivery that went sideways. He told us straight out why he was happy: the price was right, the product was right, and the communication was there from the first call to the drop-off. That's the whole playbook — keep the deadline, control the quality, communicate. When a landscaper has a crew standing on prepped dirt, sod arriving fresh and on time is the difference between a finished job and a wasted day.
From One Delivery to a 14,000 Sq Ft Install in Westport
Here's the part that matters. The same contractor has already booked us again — not for a delivery this time, but for a full 14,000 square foot installation in Westport at another property he manages. Our installed price worked well enough that he'd rather have our crew lay it while his team handles the rest of the site. That's how new relationships get built in this business — a small order handled right, then a bigger one. It's also why landscapers, builders, and property managers keep coming back: our job is making their finished product look good. We'll share the Westport job here once it's in the ground.
