“Amazing prices! The process was extremely stress-free from ordering online to delivery. Communication was fabulous with the company and the grass is amazing. We do not have an irrigation system and maintained the grass by simply hosing twice a day for 15 minutes. I highly recommend this company.”

Sod Varieties for Seacoast
New Hampshire's Seacoast is a short, salty stretch — ocean beaches, the Great Bay estuary, and tidal salt marsh. We lead with salt-tolerant, deep-rooted turf:

Black Beauty Tall Fescue
Deep-RootedDeep roots (2–3 ft), drought tolerance, refined look. Strong choice for partial-shade or lower-maintenance sites.
The top coastal pick — tall fescue handles salt air off the Atlantic and the Great Bay estuary, with deep roots for sandy shoreline soil.

Bluegrass-Fescue Blends
Most VersatileThe bluegrass look with fescue durability underneath. Excellent for properties wanting both aesthetics and resilience.
Our balanced default for inland Seacoast towns like Dover and Exeter — bluegrass color with fescue durability.

RTF (Rhizomatous Tall Fescue)
Best for Dogs & KidsSelf-repairing rhizome system fills in damage from foot traffic and dog use over time. Strongest performer for active family lawns.
Great for busy beach houses and summer rentals around Hampton and Rye; self-repairing under heavy seasonal traffic.

Kentucky Bluegrass
The ClassicRich color and tight knit-in. The traditional choice for Seacoast properties with established irrigation.
For open, sunny, irrigated lots set back from the salt; the classic look, but thirstier and less salt-tolerant.

Sod on the NH Seacoast: Ocean Salt, Great Bay & Sandy Soil
New Hampshire's coastline is short — barely eighteen miles — but distinct. Along the beaches at Hampton, Rye, and New Castle, lawns catch Atlantic salt air and sit on sandy soil, while the Great Bay estuary reaches inland toward Dover and Durham with tidal salt marsh of its own. The ocean keeps the immediate coast a touch milder than inland New Hampshire (roughly USDA zone 6a). For exposed coastal lots we lead with salt-tolerant tall fescue and blends over a fresh topsoil base; inland Seacoast lots with good sun can carry bluegrass.
The beach towns are a summer market — rentals and second homes — so we plan installs around seasonal turnover. New sod needs deep, consistent early watering, especially in fast-draining coastal sand. See our best sod for New Hampshire guide, and the New Hampshire sod delivery page for full coverage.
