Sod Delivery Speed
Can You Get Same-Day Sod Delivery?
Rarely, and only opportunistically. Standard turnaround across our 8-state footprint is 2–7 days because sod is cut fresh from the farm for each order — we do not stock palletized inventory. Same-day or next-day delivery is occasionally possible for Connecticut and immediately adjacent territory if a cancellation opens a truck slot, but it is not a service guarantee. Call (203) 806-4086 to check availability if you have a same-day need.
Realistic Turnaround by State
| Delivery Area | Typical Turnaround | Same-Day Possible? |
|---|---|---|
| Connecticut | 24–72 hours | Occasionally |
| Westchester County NY | 48 hours – 4 days | Rarely |
| Long Island, NY | 3–5 days | No |
| Massachusetts | 2–4 days | No |
| Rhode Island | 2–4 days | No |
| New Jersey | 3–7 days | No |
| New Hampshire / Vermont / Maine | 3–7 days | No |
Why We Don't Stock Pallets
Sod has a 24–48 hour shelf life off the soil. Once the harvester cuts the roll, the leaves are respiring and heat builds inside the stack. Inventory that sits more than two days arrives yellow, slow to root, and prone to seam failures. The 2–7 day turnaround is what it takes for the farm to cut, palletize, load the truck, and deliver fresh. The alternative is what big-box stores stock — sod that was cut at a farm, trucked to a regional distribution center, transferred to a store, and sat in the parking lot. By the time you pick it up it can be a week-plus from harvest.
