How much water does a new lawn need on Long Island sand?
Deep and split — sand drains too fast for one long soak to last the day, so establishment watering runs in shorter cycles that keep moisture in the root zone without pouring water past it. The handoff schedule spells out run times by zone, and the fresh topsoil base under the sod is doing quiet work holding each cycle longer. Irrigated lawns just program it; hose-timer setups run the same plan.
Do you work with estate managers and landscape contractors?
