At this time, CT Sod offers delivery only. We do not have a pick-up option because sod is a living product that must stay fresh and moist from the farm to your property. By delivering directly, we ensure your sod arrives in perfect condition and ready to install the same day.
Typically, sod deliveries can be scheduled within 3–5 business days. We finalize our truck routes the day before your delivery and will text you your delivery time so you can prepare. During peak season (spring and fall), we recommend scheduling as early as possible to secure your preferred delivery date.
We proudly deliver sod across Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, and Rhode Island. Whether you need sod in Fairfield County, Westchester County, the Hamptons, Cape Cod, or anywhere in between, our team can bring farm-fresh sod directly to your home or job site.
CT Sod offers both professional sod installation and delivery-only services. Our crews are experienced in grading, soil preparation, and sod installation to ensure your lawn establishes quickly and thrives long-term. If you’d like a quote for installation, visit our sod installation page.
Proper care starts immediately after installation. New sod needs to be watered within 30 minutes of being laid and kept consistently moist for the first 2–3 weeks. After that, you can transition to a regular watering schedule. For a full breakdown, check out our new sod care guide.
We specialize in premium grass varieties ideal for New England and the Tri-State area, including Kentucky Bluegrass, Tall Fescue, and blends of both. These grasses are chosen for their durability, deep color, and ability to handle our regional climate. Whether you want a lush lawn for your home or durable turf for a commercial project, CT Sod can recommend the best sod type for your property.
The price of sod depends on the type of grass, order size, and delivery location. On average, homeowners in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, and Rhode Island can expect to pay by the pallet (500–600 sq. ft.), with discounts available for larger orders. For the most accurate estimate, visit our sod pricing page or request a custom quote today.
Sod is a living product, and to fully enjoy its benefits, it needs proper care from the moment it arrives. Each order is freshly cut and palletized, so it’s crucial to lay it the same day for the best results.
To ensure a smooth installation:
While sod can survive on a pallet for more than a day, it’s not ideal. If you can’t install it immediately, keep it moist, out of direct sunlight, and covered with a tarp.
Once laid, sod should be watered immediately to encourage root growth. On hot days, soak the sod as you go—don’t wait until the entire area is installed to begin watering. This is especially critical in summer months when high temperatures can quickly dry out the sod. Spring is the best time to install sod, thanks to cooler temperatures and frequent rainfall.
Sod deliveries require planning. We recommend placing your order at least a week in advance to ensure availability. While we often deliver sooner, it’s not guaranteed. Unlike mulch or other landscaping materials, sod is a perishable product that requires careful scheduling and preparation.
